Blog Categories

The Blog Categories widget for Elementor allows you to showcase your post categories in a clean and organized way. It’s a great tool for helping users navigate through your content effortlessly.

Whether you have a travel blog, a news portal, or a personal portfolio, organizing your content by categories is essential. The Blog Categories widget provides multiple layout options, from simple lists to image-rich grids, making your category navigation look professional and modern.

This widget comes free with WPMozo Addons Lite. To use it, simply install and activate the free version of plugin.

How to add widget on page

Once the WPMozo Addons plugin is activated, it adds several widgets to the Elementor builder. To insert the Blog Categories widget, follow these steps.

  1. Create/edit a page/post that uses Elementor builder.
  2. Create/edit container.
  3. Search widget Blog Categories under WPMozo.

Content settings

  • Select Categories: Select specific post categories to display. If left blank, all categories will be shown.
  • Number of Categories: Define the total number of category items to display in the widget.
  • Layout Selection: Choose from Layout 1 (Text only), Layout 2 (Thumbnail), or Layout 3 (Inline).
  • Columns & Gap: Responsive grid settings to control how many items appear per row and the spacing between them.

Style settings

Title text

Customize the appearance of the category titles to match your site’s branding.

  • Color & Hover Color: Set specific colors for the title in its normal and hover states.
  • Typography: Full control over font family, size, weight, and line-height.
  • Text Shadow: Add a subtle shadow to make titles stand out.
  • Alignment: Align titles to the left, center, or right.

Post count

Style the small badge or text that shows the number of articles in each category.

  • Text Color: Set the color for the number and “Articles” text.
  • Background: Apply a background color or gradient to the count badge.
  • Border & Radius: Add borders and rounded corners to create a badge look.
  • Spacing: Adjust padding and margin to position the count perfectly.

Thumbnail

These settings apply when you are using Layout 2 with category images.

  • Image Fit: Choose how the image fits (Cover, Contain, etc.) in its container.
  • Dimensions: Set custom width and height for the thumbnails.
  • Box Shadow: Add depth to your images with customizable shadows.
  • Border Radius: Create rounded or circular category images.

Category item

Style the overall container for each individual category item.

  • Background: Set a background color or gradient for the entire item box.
  • Padding & Margin: Control the internal and external spacing of each item.
  • Border Settings: Add borders and define corner roundness for the item boxes.
  • Alignment: Control how the content (image, title, count) is aligned within the box.
